When I opined that Oracle can not be trusted to keep MySQL going there were some in the MySQL and Oracle community who accused me of spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt). I agree that there is indeed a lot of Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt around MySQL these days. However, I don’t think that this humble blog is the reason. Bottom line is that since the acquisition was first announced Oracle has said nothing about its plans for MySQL. Arbour Networks knows a thing or two about internet security as their gear is used by most top tier ISPs. They run an interesting internet threat analysis service at http://atlas.arbor.net/.
