Every year around the end of October I see geese heading south for the winter. And as if there was a similar instinct, those of us who are in to data and information processing head down to Las Vegas for the annual Information On Demand Conference. The conference has grown dramatically over the last few years and by all accounts it is going to be a great event this year.
Big Data will be in focus this year. There will be press releases, product announcements, demos and exhibits. Most important there will be an impressive array of technical sessions and hands on labs. Here is the summary of the Big Data sessions that those of you who are going may find handy:
I will be co-presenting with Bobbie Cochrane session IIM-2616 An Agile Cloud for Analyzing Big Data on Monday 3:45-4:45 in Tadewinds D. Drop by if you have a chance. I am also presenting on Wednesday 4:30-5:45 3093A Put your IBM DB2 on the Cloud … any Cloud. It will be in Islander I – Mandalay Bay North Convention Center.
Also, on Monday at 4:00-5:00pm in Coral AB Rav Ahuja will host a panel of Business Partners who will share their perspectives and experiences in helping customers get to the cloud. And, he will also be introducing the 3 finalists of the BigDataUniversity.com Hadoop Programming Challenge who got their trip to Las Vegas and conference attendance taken care of by the IBM InfoSphere BigInsights team.
