I agree with you regarding Ubuntu and DB2.

It&#039;s been my combo of choice for some time now, even before it was officially recognized by IBM (for my own private use, not for production).

One minor bugbear is that DB2 won&#039;t start up automatically out of the box, because the installer doesn&#039;t take account of the fact that Ubuntu doesn&#039;t use inittab.   Obviously you can fix it &quot;after the event&quot; but that involves doing things with Ubuntu that your average user may not be comfortable with.</description>
